A Brief Overview of the Company
Smokin Gun Performance Horses is owned by Trevor and Tiffiny Bond. Trevor and Tiffiny have been married since 1993 and are very faith and family orientated. We have three children, Austin, Gage, and Sterling. Austin currently lives in Pilot Point, Texas, and is the head of Infinite Reproduction and Genetics. Gage and Sterling are actively involved with helping on the farm and love living in beautiful southeast Kansas near Big Hill Lake. In addition to our Quarter horses (who occasionally come home and visit from the trainers) we also raise Longhorn cattle. We believe the youth is the future of the quarter horse industry and actively support NRCHYA and AQHA youth associations.
HOW DID WE DECIDE TO PRESERVE THE LEGENDARY HORSE, SMART CHIC OLENA®?
We, like most people, dreamed of being able to breed, own or even show a legendary performance horse. We found out through a bankruptcy trustee that the frozen semen of this horse was being sold. We were able to purchase the semen to be used with our mares. We bred to our mare Little Tari Kid (Brenna's Kid and Chunky Monkey). We ended up with a great little red dun stud colt in the spring of 2012. We slowly kept working with the trustee on buying a little bit here and there.
The trustee approached us and said they needed to get this case closed. If they didn't have a buyer that could purchase the rest of the semen available they would be forced to destroy it. We prayed about it and put it in God's hands. God opened the doors for us to be able to preserve this legend of a horse and pass these breedings on to you. Through the process of obtaining the semen, we were also able to obtain ownership of all rights of the horse, including the papers from AQHA in our name.
